This technique of affixing a printed pattern on an object, consists of immersing prepared parts in a tray filled with water, on the surface of which was deposited an activated hydrographic film. The film wraps around the part and adheres to the part surface.
This amazing process is accessible to everyone and allows to decorate and customize any object, with a large number of pre-printed patterns available. The technique involves just a few simple steps and products: spraying a primer on the object, positioning the film on the water, spraying an activator, soaking with the right angle, then the topcoat application.
Hydro dipping, hydrotransfer, hydrographic transfer, are the terms used to describe this technique, easy to carry out with simple or professional equipment. All detailed instructions, videos and packaging options are available on the product pages.
StardustColors is not an applicator and does not provide training. If anyone wishes to make it his/her profession, it’s really important to be trained in hydro dipping process from an experienced applicator who, as part of a 1-3 day training, will show tips and advice and give explanations to master such skill. Stardust offers all the necessary products (trays, base, activator, hydrographic films, topcoat, blank film to print) and gives also instructions for making the transfer yourself at home. Products availables in pot version (for professional spraying) or aerosol spray can.
