In this category are also offered related products which may be needed to create the white primer coat, or the topcoat for a gloss and resistant finish:
400ml Phosphorescent spray can
2K Bodywork topcoat aerosol
- A white primer aerosol
To make your project a success, consider carefully these two aspects inherent to the aerosol:
- Choose an intense bright colour.. This is the case of Green or Turquoise.. The
other colours naturally produce a lower brightness.
- Ensure you have enough paint. The photoluminescence intensity will depend on the number o coats. You will need at least 4 or 5 coats to accumulate sufficient phosphorescence on a surface.
Be also aware that phosphorescent paint spray cans, also called paint aerosols or spray paints, are a pressure container that contains 75% gas and 25% product. No more! Therefore they have the unique advantage of spraying the paint without touching the substrate, which ensures a surface without brush marks, as one could do with a spray gun. But the downside of this is that the phosphorescent paint spray can has little yield, since a spray of 400 milliliters only contains 25% of phosphorescent paint.
Our customers have completed several painting works, especially on bikes, using our Deep Field range phosphorescent aerosols. The implementation is not easy, but it shows that to enable a successful painting, the most important is the application, the methodology and the care, and that it’s not necessary to be a professional that possesses a coachbuilder equipment.
What do the phosphorescent paint spray cans contain? They contain the same
bodywork paint version as our pot versions: a fine fast drying paint, that must be topcoated quickly.
Warning! Aerosol is a dangerous product. Vapours are flammable and harmful, as is a solvent-based paint. You must wear a mask and work with a suitable airflow.
In order to reflect the light, it’s important to have a white background for the paint. Over a black background, the phosphorescence will be nil.
It’s possible to obtain coloured phosphorescent effects during the day, by using light base colours. For this, yellow or light green fluorescent paints should be used.
Any topcoat can be used. UV filtering is not an obstacle for a proper paint reloading.
The persistence is the time during which the effect lasts: with green colour, you can easily reach 8 to 10 hours of visibility. With a minimum power of course, since it is during the first 5 or 10 minutes that the effect is very intense. The effect decreases quickly and stabilizes at a visible but low level of photoluminescence.
