Crystal paint (crystallizer) which gives crystal-like effects.
The marble effect paint which gives pearlescent effects of marble-shaped decorations.
The Lava Cracks effect which produces cracking effects.
Each of these paints is made in several coats and steps and works in a different way. Crystal paint" and "Marblizer" are two monochrome effects that are usually varnished with a "Candy", to give a colored and deep effect.
The products are available in different sizes and kits, with instructions on the pages.
These three effects (Crystal paint, Marblizer, Lava Cracks) are relatively simple to achieve. They are therefore suitable for all consumers and are also available in aerosol cans.
The "crystal paint" is one of the most impressive special effects developed by Stardust: this paint creates a real crystallisation of the surface, without creating any thickness. It is therefore an impression of texture, an optical effect, which is amplified with the "Candy" colored varnish.
Demonstration videos and explanations are available on the product page.
The marble effect paint or "Marblizer" gives marbled effects, thanks to a silver-white pearlescent liquid, which is applied over a black background and moved with a plastic film. Just like crystal paint, it is advisable to apply a Candy varnish to amplify the visual effect.
The marble effect acrylic paint (water-based version) can be made on request: currently, all texture effects are solvent-based products.
The successful effect is due to the contrast between the bottom and top coats (shading of the crystals).
Therefore it is important to make sure that you choose two contrasting colors.
As long as this rule is respected, it is possible to play with different colors:
Chameleon, phosphorescent or pearlescent paint can be used for the background.
A dark color, can be used for the background, with a light shading color.
These are only examples.
When creating Crystallizing or Marbled effects, it is advisable to use a "hard" background to obtain the best results and to avoid difficulties:
In the case of Crystal paint, it is better to use a varnished aluminium paint with very fine sanding, as crystallizations are best achieved on a smooth surface.
In the case of Marblizer, a black 2K or varnished base avoids any risk of reacting or melting under the effect of the solvent-based product.
