This category includes several ranges with pearl paint featured, with a choice of "custom" pearl shades regularly updated by the creative team of Stardust.
We distinguish a pearlescent paint of body type, by its composition which contains pearl pigments. The visual result of pearl paints is always very fine, with a distinctive shine, more subtle than the shine of metal-based paints (aluminum).
The Multicolorz range is a range of very beautiful colors, showing an excellent value for money. It is worth noting that these colors do not contain any dyes or tints, which is a notable difference from all OEM body paints.
The Premium line is a completely separate offering, with a collection of the world's finest colors. These body colors use a different kind of pearl, the latest innovation from the world of special pigments.
The paints of the « Multicolorz » and « Premium » series are classified as effect paints, because they are unique and very special. For the time being, they are available in a solvent-based « 1K » formula.
In the near future, it is planned to offer a maximum number of paints in a « hydro » formula, i.e. in a water-based formula, for use on the bodywork.
In both cases, the paint is of the « 1K basecoat » type, whose protection and resistance is provided by a bodywork topcoat.
These pearlescent paints are beautiful and visually far superior to the boring paints of the automotive world: while Multicolorz pearlescent paint is made with excellent synthetic pearls, the excellence of Premium paints is based on the use of glass pearls (borosilicate) or magnesium-based pearls.
Check out the beautiful colors of the pearl paints and download the color charts available on the pages. The formats proposed are the 400 ml aerosol, the 250 ml ready-to-use can or the 2 Liters pure kit with its thinner.
Spray guns with nozzles as large as 1.4mm are ideal. Airbrushes are perfect for painting small objects, as they can be thinned without limit with « Multicolorz » or « Premium » pearl paints.
When it comes to bodywork, then it is clear that the application of pearl paint must be done by spraying, either with a spray gun or an airbrush.
In the field of decoration (objects, bottles..) and architecture (facade, structure..), the rule is not different : the use of brushes or rollers is only possible with classic paints and 2K paints.
Only the projection, without touching the support, allows to position homogeneously the millions of pearl pigments.
No matter if it is a l2K paint, a primer, a paint, it is the background color that matters : a pearl paint is not completely opaque and its appearance can be very different, depending on whether it is applied over a white, gray or black background.
Therefore, it is important to have an adequate background color, never paint over a multicolored background, or repair it with a filler, a primer area, etc.
As a general rule, bright and flashy pearl colors need a white background, while intense colors need a black background : this black allows the pearls a maximum reflection.
