Resin 4000 is generally used for casting thickness up to 3 or 4 cm and WWA resin, which allows a thickness of up to 15 cm in a single casting.
Perfectly sound and sanded dry wood is mainly used. Pine wood or hazelwood are especially recommended.
Pearl powder is added to the epoxy resin at a rate of 5-15g/liter of mixture.
Translucent epoxy inks can be added to the epoxy resin to improve the depth effect and increase colour intensity.
Some painters directly pour the mixture on the surface and on dust-free, sound and dry raw wood.
It’s really simple to make yourself an epoxy river effect table!
Nevertheless, we recommend to apply a coat of primer over all the wood, especially if it is very porous. This will prevent any defects due to bubbles. To impregnate the wood, it is best to use our water-soluble epoxy resin 1010, which can be thinned to 200% water. Apply the product using a brush and allow to dry for about 5 hours before pouring the coloured and filled epoxy resins.
Let us now discuss the characteristics of epoxy resin. Water-based, floor, casting, molding or varnishing epoxy resins are all transparent and have exceptional technical qualities.
They offer solutions for multiple decorative or technical applications, on floors, wood, metals.
We explain which epoxy resin colorant to use. To give color to these resins, you can use mother-of-pearl, color pigments and phosphorescent pigments. In addition, we will explain the different possible techniques to make its epoxy resin matt.
To buy quality resin, it is better to turn to a simple choice: high performance transparent Resoltech epoxy resin :
- WWA Resoltech translucent casting resin - high thickness
- Resoltech 4000 translucent glaze resin - up to 1 - 2 cm
- Water-soluble resin 1010 for preparation or varnishing of wood, concrete and stone
Versatile, epoxy resins are used as primers, as protection in varnishing, or in molding or casting, with outstanding performance.
Our epoxy resins show spectacular thickness and hardness, but they are mostly solvent-free and non-toxic, unlike toxic polyester resins. For more details, refer to the data sheet.
How to use an epoxy resin ? To answer this question, we will start by giving you valuable tips on curing epoxy resin: once this mixture is complete, the epoxy resin becomes solid. The resin will harden enough for you to complete your work. We will therefore tell you the right amount of hardener and the right amount of resin to dose to achieve an optimal mixing ratio. In addition, this type of product can be used in many fields: interior decoration and painters of river tables, floors with marbled effects or kitchen worktops. But also hobbies with, for example, the creation of a fishing lure that looks like two drops of water to a fish, the customization of a longboard or the manufacture of DIY jewellery.
