You will simply have to select the volume (from 250ml to 2L) and the version (spray can or pot) of the paint, then send us your Honda color code by email, once the order has been placed and paid for.
Your original Honda paint will be mixed by our colorist preparer immediately, if the order reaches us before 3 p.m. and it can be dispatched the same day, with delivery scheduled for the next day in France, or after 48/72 hours in Europe.
It is imperative that we know your Honda color code, without which we cannot mix the paint, nor know the formula. The process of finding the reference of your original color must be done by you. We can only help you validate this code by checking our database, which we have on our colorimetry software.
In the following paragraphs, you will find indications for finding the color reference and also indications on the characteristics of a paint code.
According to our conditions of sale, the preparation of personalized products, such as manufacturer colors, are products that cannot be returned or refunded.
All our offers are solvent-based paints. In contrast to water-based paint, solvent-based paints are flammable and harmful products. The result of the colors obtained with a water-based paint or a solvent-based paint is identical. However, there are notable differences, notably with the application, which is much easier with a solvent-based paint and the lifespan which is also much longer with a solvent-based paint.
Our paints are sold in 2 forms, with first the paint already diluted (this concerns the small formats 250 and 500 ml) and then the formats of pure paints which must be diluted with their thinner, which is delivered to go.
The Honda paint should (preferably) be applied on a homogeneous colored background, usually a medium gray. Our colorist can tell you which gray color is recommended by the Honda manufacturer. We supply primers in pots or sprays, with different shades of grey, but also white and black. In general, Honda factory paint can be applied to any background, even the original background, i.e. the old paint. This is not possible if the background has different colors or if there are logos present.
If there is a requirement to use a special background color below your Honda color code, then our colorist will let you know, by contacting you. This is particularly the case for certain special colors which are called “tri-layers”. In such a case, you will need to order the specific underlay.
In addition to painting, it is mandatory for all motorcycle paintwork to apply bodywork varnish. This clearcoat will help protect the paint but also the metal parts from corrosion and will create a beautiful shiny surface.
The varnish must normally be applied directly after painting and never after 30 minutes following application, otherwise it will produce a weak grip. Clearcoats are available in aerosol and pots. They are two-component varnishes (with hardener), which allows them to better resist abrasion, bad weather and hydrocarbons.
This Japanese company was founded in the 1940s, in the ruins of the reconstruction of World War II Japan.
Its founder of the same name (Soichiro Honda) has always been passionate about engines and motorcycles. This engineer has brought his energy incessantly since 1928 when he started working in his own mechanical workshop. Recall that his father already owned a bike shop, where Soichiro worked as an apprentice, during his youth in Tokyo.
Mr. Honda is also passionate about motor racing and he will produce his own racing vehicles. he will in particular be the victim of an accident because he is a pilot himself.
Totally self-taught, he created a piston factory and had a difficult start, but his motivation enabled him to achieve success and realize his dreams : Mr. Honda's first motorcycle was produced in 1949 with 98 cm³ of displacement and a 2-stroke engine. In 1951, a new version came out, still with a 2-stroke and this time with a 146cc engine.
In 1953, the first mass-produced motorcycles were produced and sold, and they quickly became popular in Japan. Then comes the period of participation in many motorcycle races, both in Japan and around the world. Honda would dominate the racing world with its 125 and 250cc motorcycles during the 1960s.
Today, Honda is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. The Japanese brand has sold nearly 50 million motorcycles to date.
To know its color code, consult the original booklet of the motorcycle. You can also get the information from your dealer.
There's no point looking for the part number somewhere on the fairing because it's not there, unlike cars. Ditto for the registration documents of the motorcycle.
Finding the color code of your Honda motorcycle is often difficult. There is a lot of information and assistance with Honda forums on the Internet, in different languages (You will always find more information on English-speaking forums).
This is where we advise you to go to find your information.
We cannot know the color code of your Honda motorcycle for you. Our software contains hundreds of codes, it is not possible to link a code to a particular model of motorcycles, nor to a year of production.
Certain red colors or certain pearly whites are emblematic and well-known colors of Honda motorcycles.
For those who do not know what a Honda color code looks like, we have taken a sample from our database, which you can consult below : we always find the color code, followed by the name of the color, with brand and year of production :
You can notice that some codes are noted twice, because they are the first layer and the second layer : these are special "tri-layer" colors.
We are always available to provide you with our technical support and advice, and above all to help you with your painting project, whether it is for a touch-up or a complete painting. Our email for technical advice is tech@stardustcolors.com
