Among the special effect pigments, these Deco Polyester flakes represent superior grades in terms of quality, both because of the materials used as carriers for flake production, and because of the cutting technique : hexagonal type deco flakes are cut precisely in the shape of a hexagon, in contrast to economy flakes which are a kind of cutting residue.
Stardust® decorative flakes are selected from the most beautiful shades. They are versatile, durable and come from an ISO9001 :2000 certified production line that fully complies with all levels of requirements related to European standards (Certificate of Analysis, Safety Data Sheet, EN71-3, REACH, F963-11 TOYS, RoHS).
Decorative flake is used for many decorative works, coatings, floors, crafts, Christmas decorations, packaging, windows, clothes and fabrics, plastic industry...
Using and handling decorative flake is simple and safe. These large particles are 200 to 600 microns in size and cannot be breathed in. They are non-volatile and are made of a non-hazardous material, polyester. Decorative flake can be attached, glued, to surfaces with glue, medium or clearcoat, depending on the surface and its preferences. The decorative flake is resistant to sunlight, water, or even solvent.
To make a flake decoration on a wall or an object, simply apply the flake on the surface. You should not mix the flake directly into paint (this will drown the flake).
To achieve a beautiful flake decorating effect, you should choose a dark background color (black is the best example) or a dark background color close to the color of the flake, so as not to create an unsightly contrast.
These reflective and shiny particles are obtained from an ultra thin polyester film which is then cut into millions of flakes. The initial film has a mirror effect obtained by a metallization technique. The deposition of metal coats under vacuum allows to obtain a large number of colors that appear transparent and bright. These metal coats protect the polyester substrate when it is in contact with sunlight or solvents.
Stardust® flakes are available in various packaging (1 kg, 5 kg or 25 kg). They are distributed in 9 countries in Europe, thanks to an efficient logistics system, with a permanent storage center in France, near Avignon.
