Special Topcoats 

The special varnishes are part of the finishes varnishes and paints family. These are transparent or coloured lacquers that are applied as "finishes", on a material or a paint system, to ensure its protection and give it a glossy aspect.

Special topcoats have special properties and are considered as rare and technologically advanced products. Stardust collects and groups for you all products with the most exotic specialties for the industry and the design community.

Special varnish

Technical topcoats can provide solutions to mechanical problems or binding standards. All areas have very different needs and in certain situations, you cannot use any topcoat.

For example, effect special varniches can be used to protect the greenhouse surfaces from heat with anti-heat or anti-UV varniches, or to protect plastic sheetings that must remain flexible and foldable on trucks, or even use an adhesion clear coat to protect metals from corrosion.

Varnishes to standards

Varnishes to standards and ensure the safety of the users. Like food-safe topcoats that are applied to containers, especially working surfaces and kitchen tools or that come into contact with food. But also flame-retardant topcoats which are certified by the results of the Flame Resistance tests carried out. They must minimize smoking and above all they must not ignite easily.

Technical topcoats

Technical topcoats are useful for technical and mechanical applications and provide solutions to specific constraints or requirements: a technical clear coat can be a flexible topcoat for example, or even a topcoat that adheres to a specific metal without using a primer.

Specific protective varnish

There are different types of protective coats and they provide appropriate solutions against a constraint: for example, anti-UV clear coats prevent the discoloration and yellowing of fragile hues. There are other types of specific protective varnishes. These products are used to protect surfaces and colours against aggressive UV rays, heat, or abrasion.

Special effect varnish

These clear coats are transparent, gloss and resistant finishes that, in addition to their topcoating properties, offer an iridescent pearl sheen or photo-luminescent effect, for example. Special effect varnishes do not change the colour of the background and are available in different shades.

Water-based varnish

They are far from being low-quality topcoats and are on the contrary water-based varnishes that use modern technology, and provide excellent resistance and gloss. Furthermore, they offer optimal comfort of use with very low VOC rates.

Textured varnish

Textured varnishes are special clear coats that provide textures such as a rubbery or gum texture, or a soft velvet type effect.

Other topcoats lead to glossy glazes such as Epoxy 4000 clear coat.

All these special products are distributed by Stardust, and come in addition to more standard finishes such as conventional car body topcoats, or the different kinds of matte finishes and topcoats, or even 2K Paints.
