Special effect paints 

Stardust has revolutionized car paint and motorcycle paint with an impressive collection of special effect paints. In contrast to "inert" classic paints, special effect paints seem to be more “lively”: they are coatings that change, react or produce a visual effect.

They contain very special and rare ingredients which determine their properties. These are technological and very innovative products with many possible applications.

Special effects paints

These paints come at a certain cost and gain gradually in popularity. Before StardustColors, a pioneer in this respect, was founded, these products were known to a few users and came mainly from the United States. Nowadays, through their democratisation, we see them on luxurious concept cars, or on private cars and motorcycles.

Special effects paints are primarily focused on aesthetics: their beauty is eye-catching and stands out from the mass of classic and monotonous paints. They are always surprising, we can say that they have a special effect!

Candy paint

Candy paint merits a separate special effect paint family on its own, and is a multi-layer technique that creates deep and bright shades by superimposing metallic and reflective colours, with translucent and shimmering shades.

Texture effects paint

Other coatings create surface effects: these are the texture special effects for car paint and motorcycle paint, quite real, as with the rust effect paint. They can simply be optics effects with depth effects, marbling effects or crystallized effects.

Colour changing effects paint

Some of the most famous special effect paints are those that can change colour depending on one's viewpoint : colour changing effect paint don’t react to light or an external factor; due to their optical properties, they display different colours according to the observer's point of view. Reaction effect paint seem lively and are therefore very surprising: they are able to modify their appearance by reacting to changes in external conditions such as brightness or temperature.

Photoluminescent effects paint

This set of photoluminescent effects paint include several types. A photoluminescent paint reacts to light, causing a fast or slow release of energy, manifesting itself in the form of luminous fluorescence. The different types include visible and invisible fluorescent effect, reacting to UV or infrared rays, and the phosphorescent effect.
