We offer vintage car paints. These are mainly polyurethane 2K paints, prepared by our colorists according to the countertype formulas of the main car manufacturers (our databases list all the color codes since the 1940s). At that time, there were no (or almost no) paints with mother-of-pearl or aluminum. They were essentially opaque and glossy finishing paints.
Our products for the preparation before painting :
Find, further down this page, our primers for « filling » and « surfacing » surfaces with defects. Our special primers for metal sheets and bodywork ensure good adhesion and protection against rust.
We complement our range of primers, paints and clearcoats with a complete range of painting supplies and consumables : from paint spray guns to polishing and buffing products and tools, including dusting pads and abrasives.
As far as the restoration of chrome on vintage cars is concerned, it is about interior car parts (trim, handle, various elements..) and exterior parts (hubcaps, bumpers, trim).
Finding companies able to strip, sandblast, then chrome the parts with galvanization processes is the best solution, if you have the means, if you find a qualified professional and if you have the patience to wait in the waiting line.
To choose and order a paint for your vintage car, go below to the product page presenting the 2K paint in manufacturer's color.
All you will need to do is choose a package in sufficient quantity for the amount of surface to be painted.
The products are offered as a « kit », which means that everything is included : 2K paint, hardener and thinner. We can make any color of paint for vintage vehicles.

Silvering for vintage cars
Stardust offers alternatives for chrome effects. These processes are very different from each other. There are no easy, inexpensive, perfect solutions providing a 100% chrome effect.
We have three solutions for chrome parts on vintage cars : brush chrome (easy and nice, but not very resistant), spray paint (the best compromise, because easy and resistant), silver plating (necessary equipment, chemicals, complex process).
Silver plating is the only technique that creates a sparkling and true chromium plating : the result is not very UV resistant, but is totally suitable for a car that will be on the road from time to time.
If we take the example of some 2CV or other vintage cars, at that time there were not necessarily clearcoats with sparkling gloss levels like those of today !
It is wise to choose a less shiny clearcoat, such as a semi-matte or satin clearcoat, so as not to interfere with the old character and general appearance of the vehicle.
Unfortunately, we cannot help you if you only know the brand and the year, because even at that time, the paint color codes were already very numerous.
However, our colorist will assist you as best as possible by providing you with a list of possible references. The best thing for you, if you don't know the exact color code, is to register on a forum dedicated to your vintage car and discuss with other owners.
