Important: the paints should not be unnecessarily exposed to sunlight, given their high sensitivity to the sun's UV rays. Outdoor application and prolonged and direct exposure to sunlight are therefore not recommended.
There is no way to guarantee a 100% protection, but there are nevertheless some ways to extend the brightness of the colours outdoors:
Cover with our topcoat which ensures enhanced protection against UVs.
Apply a nanoceramic protection (it will filter UVs)
Apply a maximum of topcoat layers
Apply a maximum of fluorescent paint coats (a 6-coat paint lasts twice as long as a 3-coat paint).
And finally, reduce exposure to sunlight. It is obvious, of course, that you should avoid parking your vehicle in the sun unnecessarily.
Mixing: our fluorescent automotive paints are solvent-based bases, ready to use. It may be necessary to add 20 to 40% of thinner to improve their fluidity.
Paint preparation:
Our fluorescent bodywork paints are solvent-based, ready for use. It may be necessary to add 10 to 20 % of thinner to improve their fluidity.
They display a high rate of pigment load, therefore they dry quickly but can become cracked in case of high thickness.
On the other hand, these are semi-transparent shades, so several passes should be applied to obtain a good coverage.
It is therefore strongly advised to apply topcoat over them quickly after the application, without waiting more than 15 min.
You can add 5% of hardener to give them more robustness, adhesion power and flexibility and improve their resistance to cracks.
The pigments that offer these vivid colours are not pigments like any others: they are fluorescent and emit more light than they receive.
Did you know that they glow when they are lit in the dark with a UV black light lamp?
However, this effect is inhibited when a bodywork topcoat has been applied. This demonstrates that these topcoats are naturally anti-UV.
