Clearcoats are glossy and transparent finishing 2K paints applied in the final step to the raw substrate or, more generally, on various paints used for decoration.
These clearcoats create an effective protective layer against abrasion, friction, as well as liquids and detergent or chemical products.
Acrylic clearcoats also enhance colors and create a matte or glossy finish.
The Stardust 3D range also offers a series of solvent-based polyurethane clearcoats.
Solvent-Free Acrylic Varnishes for 3D Printing Resin or FDM
These clearcoats are suitable for raw or painted parts, miniature printed figurines, as well as large pieces (Cosplay).
The Stardust 3D range consists of several fluid and transparent clearcoats, preferably intended for airbrush or paint gun application.
Innovative Formula
On this page, we gather all water-based acrylic clearcoats. They are odorless and non-hazardous. They benefit from recent innovations and progress in the field of chemistry and coatings : these new water-based clearcoats dry quickly and have remarkable levels of resistance.

Description of the 6 acrylic clearcoats for 3D printing :
Fine Gloss Clearcoat
This is a fast-drying clearcoat with an excellent level of gloss (specular gloss of about 75-80°). Each coat produces a dry film of 15-20µm. It is recommended for airbrush use on miniature figurines printed by 3D printing.
Gloss Clearcoat
This clearcoat is thick and resistant with excellent gloss (Specular gloss 75-80°), good filling power, self-leveling, and good drip resistance. Each coat produces a dry film of 25µm. Excellent adhesion on all types of surfaces.
Matte Clearcoat – Satin Clearcoat
Here are two clearcoats that produce a natural satin (20°) or matte (5°) effect. These clearcoats are exceptionally resistant and have excellent adhesion levels on many surfaces. Dry layer: 20-25µm
Ultra Matte Clearcoat
Here is a very special clearcoat with an almost zero specular gloss level (1 – 2°). This extremely matte clearcoat creates an ultra-soft visual appearance; it does not reflect light and does not create any color whitening effects. Its resistance performance is not very high.
Soft Clearcoat
Here is another special clearcoat that includes microscopic beads in its composition, allowing it to create an ultra-soft touch effect on the clearcoat surface, comparable to a velvet effect. It is not a highly resistant clearcoat. Its gloss level is less than 2°, making it extremely matte.
