The abrasives take the form of discs, sheets or even sponge. In body painting, they are used to prepare the supports. They make it possible both to improve adhesion before the application of paint, but also to reduce and improve surfaces by abrasion.
Each abrasive is determined by the size of its grain: example P500. The abrasive number determines the number of abrasive grains per square centimeter (P/m²), approximately of course.
For body painting and sanding fillers, fillers, paints, there are first of all the pneumatic sanders, for which we offer a simple choice of sanders, both pneumatic and also battery-powered, with a standard size (150mm) as well as a “mini” size (50mm). We offer a consistent price range, with the assurance of the best value for money. All our sanders have been tested and selected by our teams, to ensure our individual customers or professional body painters, the best performance in terms of power and durability.
Of course, each tool is offered with a full range of abrasive discs adapted to the diameter of the plate. We offer offers for individuals with minimal packaging but also complete boxes of abrasive discs at economical prices for professionals. On each product page, we offer various options, corresponding to the different sanding grains, from the coarsest to the finest.
The sanding sheets we offer are of superior quality and are all intended for wet sanding, thanks to their composition based on silicone/latex paper : Of professional quality, they are offered in different grades (up to at 5000 grains per cm²), in boxes of 100 sheets and also in packets of 5 sheets or in 1 'mixed' offer for individuals. The most commonly used abrasive sheets for bodywork paint are:
For fillers and primers : grits P80 to P500
For paints and lacquers : grains P320 to P500
For clearcoats : grains P500 to P800
For polishing : greater than P1500 Up to P5000
One of our most popular specialties are abrasive sponges : these are ideal for creating good paint grip, without stripping, without reducing the thickness. They simply scratch the surface to promote adhesion. They provide a significant time saving when it comes to designing motorcycle frames, plastic fairings, complicated shapes. They are available in a range of several colors, each corresponding to a sanding grain :
Green sponge : about 400
Gray sponge : about 800
Yellow sponge : about 1200

They differ in their sanding grit sizes. The sanding sheets with the lowest numbers (80 to 220) are reserved mainly for coarse sanding work for the primary phases (rust removal, stripping, reduction of putties and primers, wood...). They allow powerful and fast abrasion, and of course a high level of approach to thick products (mastics and primers). From grain P320 it is possible to paint most paints and varnishes, covering and without obtaining sanding marks. In the field of bodywork paint, you should know that it is not possible to guarantee a good level of grip, above the P800 grain.
We recommend to all those who practice custom painting, not on cars, but on small parts, motorcycles or helmets for example, to always practice wet sanding. All our sheets from 320 grit allow this thanks to their Silicone Carbide composition. This allows better evacuation of dust without clogging the paper and less heating.
On the other hand, manual sanding is softer and allows you to better feel the surfaces, imperfections, reliefs and edges.
The abrasive discs have a round shape as their name suggests and they adapt to their respective plate (there are different sizes of plate for sanders, with diameters 50, 75, 125, 150mm).
In the field of body painting, 150 mm discs are the most used on cars. Using smaller diameters is convenient for repairing small areas, but should be practiced with care, as even if the sander is orbital, it is easier to leave sanding marks with smaller discs.
All our abrasive discs are of professional quality and guarantee excellent sanding at the same time as optimal durability.
