Phosphorescent water-based paints use acrylic and water, as opposed to solvent-based paints, and they are non-harmful and odourless. Therefore they are simple to use and do not require special precautions.
Quite often, water-based paints are generally less resistant than solvent-based phosphorescent paints. They also dry more slowly. Here are all their drawbacks.
We offer in this category two types of acrylic paints:
Moonglo® Deco range: No solvents. Thick texture.
Aero1K Range: More fluidity, and exceptionally resistant. Spray gun or airbrush application (after thinning with water) possible.
To make your choice, simply ask yourself the following two questions:
For which intended use? Is it an outdoor application? If yes, on vertical or horizontal surface (floor)? Are you going to paint indoors? A child's room? Or is it for a marking in a factory?
The way it will be applied? Pneumatic spray gun, brush, roller? Airbrush?
You should choose a liquid water-based paint for spraying or a thick phosphorescent paint to use with a brush or roller on a wall for example.
Quite easily and quickly, with natural light, or even a lamp.
15 minutes are generally sufficient to fully recharge the paint.
Only the phosphorescent purple colour needs sunlight to recharge.
To say that a water-based paint glows less than a professional paint is not true. In fact, all our paints are fully loaded with pigments and the most important is the thickness of the total dry coat.
There are differences among acrylic water-based paints: some dry faster, some are thick, and some are ultra-resistant.
If, for example, you want to make stenciled decorations on a bedroom wall, choose the Moonglo paint, as it is odourless and does not drip. It can easily be applied in thick coats using a brush
It’s generally not recommended to use the roller as a method of application because it removes more product than it deposits. Remember that the goal with phosphorescent paint is to deposit as much thickness as possible.
Choosing a water-based paint may be appropriate for temporary marking outdoors for events: trails, treasure hunts or events in forest for example.
On vertical surfaces, our water-based paint can last for several years, withstanding bad weather. However, when it’s applied on the floor, it wears off quickly in a few weeks, due to the rain and the trampling
Whenever possible, we should select this method:
The fluid paints that we offer can be sprayed with an airbrush paint gun if the thinning is sufficient (5 -10% water).
This allows a regular dispersion on the substrate, and will prevent all traces or marks, which are necessarily found with manual applications.
