Purpose and Usage
Acrylic primers are self-leveling liquid primers designed to be sprayed with an airbrush or paint gun. They dry quickly, creating a smooth, leveled, and matte surface ready to paint.
The acrylic primer for 3D printing is specially formulated to create a covering and uniform color without hiding the micro-details of miniature figurines. Each layer deposits a dry film thickness of approximately 25µm (0.025mm).
The acrylic 3D primer is perfect for FDM/PLA or Resin 3D printed parts and possesses numerous qualities for this purpose :
Solvent-free acrylic formula, non-flammable, odorless, non-hazardous
Excellent multi-surface adhesion
Excellent fluidity
Self-leveling
Quick drying
Compatible/Overpaintable with all acrylic and solvent-based paints
Airbrush cleaning with water

Base Colors
Before applying paints and colors, it is important to ensure a uniform background color with good adhesion to the substrate to guarantee long-lasting results and prevent peeling.
The background color is crucial, and it should be chosen based on the paint colors and effects to be applied
White Base : fluorescent paint, vibrant colors, light pearlescent paints
Gray Base : general colors, medium tones
Black Base : recommended for metallic paints, pure pearlescent paints
We present several primer or undercoat solutions in aerosol format (Spray)
Surface Preparation : Don't skip these steps!
Avant de décorer ses figurines imprimées, il convient de bien préparer le support.
Before decorating printed figurines, it's essential to properly prepare the support.
If possible, remove roughness, streaks, support points, etc., with P320 sanding. On complicated areas, it's advisable to use a gray abrasive sponge
♣ For small-sized and intricately shaped figurines, acrylic primers are perfect as they can be applied directly without sanding.
For medium and large prints (Cosplay), prefer solvent-based spray or pot primers. These products provide better coverage and filling and are meant to be sanded.
