Presentation of the offer

All our packages are shipped before 3pm the same day of the order.

We produce Aprilia motorcycle paint in a professional solvent-based version, in cans or sprays.
It is a « 2-coat » type of paint or also commonly called « 1K basecoat ».
It is a monocomponent paint, very thin, easy to apply and quick drying.

• 1K basecoat means 2 coats : paint + clearcoat

1K basecoat type paints have to be varnished.

How much paint should I order to paint an Aprilia motorcycle ?

It is necessary to count approximately
1L ready to use for 4 m²
1 aerosol spray = 0.4 m²

* Aerosol spray still contain 75% gas, so if you have a spray gun, it is always better to choose paint in a can rather than aerosol spray paint

Which primer should I use?

Motorcycle paints are often pearl paints and are therefore semi-opaque. This implies that they need a specific and homogeneous background colour.
In general a grey primer is recommended.

If your colour needs a black or white primer, or a specific colour, or a 3-coat paint*, then our colorist will contact you to propose this product.

Aprilia 1K basecoat paint MIXING :

Pure paint : add 50-70 % of V1 thinner included in the kit
thinned paint 250 and 500 ml : ready to be painted

Instructions for application

On a background sanded with P500, clean, sound, degreased, dust free :
Just before painting, pick up the dust on the part with our sticky wiping pad, without pressing.
Use a 1.0 mm to 1.4 mm gun with a pressure of 2 to 3 bars
Work between 15 and 25°C preferably
Apply 2 to 3 thin or medium coats, with an interval of 5 minutes.
Do not apply thick coats
Apply the clearcoat after 10 minutes and before 30 minutes. Beyond that time, sanding is necessary.

Varnishing

It is done in 2 glossy coats spaced 7 to 10 minutes apart
