Extreme Matt Effect Topcoat

Unmatched hardness among matt varnishes:
This is the new version of Stardust Extrem Matt Varnish, which is stronger, extra hard, scratch and stain resistant.
With a 3H hardness, it is the hardest and most resistant matte lacquer currently. (see tests at the bottom of the page)

The ST822-X anti-scratch version provides even greater scratch resistance. 

The new ST823 is a high quality clearcoat, allowing a minimum level of gloss (2 °), even a little more matt than the ST822

Description : The extreme matt clear coat is an automotive extreme finish, giving a unique very matt look and feel.

Its application is very easy and the matt result will appear during the drying process.

Gloss rate: 4 °

Excellent adhesion to metals, PVC and some plastics, smoothed cement.

Our matt varnish has very good references, since it is used in large numbers by a famous manufacturer of stove does not stick to the paint sleeves (abrasion resistance, leaching, oil ..)
Thanks to the Extrem matte varnish, we obtain a real soft effect (velvet / peach skin).
The product is applicable for the automotive field, for furniture, design, etc.
The application is simple and the matte result appears during drying.


Composition: acrylic polyurethane, special finish (VOC> 420g / L)
Yield: kit 1.35m² = 5m² / kit 6.5L = 25m²
Products supplied in the package: clearcoat+ hardener + thinner

Normal version ST822:

kit 1.35L (1L clearcoat + 200ml hardener H423 + 150ml thinner)
and
6.5L kit (5L clearcoat + 1L hardener H423 + 500ml thinner)

Anti-scratch version ST822-X:

Kit 1.75 L (1L clearcoat + 0.25 L hardener H420 + 0.5L thinner)

Kit 8.5 L (5L clearcoat + 1.25 L hardener H420 + 2L thinner)

Version ST823:

kit 1.35L (1L clearcoat + 200ml hardener H423 + 150ml thinner)

and
6.5L kit (5L clearcoat + 1L hardener H423 + 500ml thinner)

Mixing: The product consists of a basecoat and a hardener 

Normal version ST822/ST823:

100 parts of matt clearcoat  with 20 parts of hardener H423 - Thinning: 10%

Anti Scratch ST822-X version:

100 parts of matt clearcoat with 25 parts of hardener H420 - Thinning V0: 30 parts

Application: It is important to note that depending on the thickness of the layers, more or less gloss is obtained.

We recommend 2 to 3 thin layers and followed / simultanées, because this varnish dries very quickly in comparison with other varnish. 

Exception for ST822-X: this topcoat is thicker, and to obtain a consistent result, it is recommended to apply a half coat, then after 5-10min, a full coat (1 thick coat)

Matte varnishes dry quickly.

When painting large parts, it is recommended to reduce the drying speed in order to avoid "seam" or "dusting" defects, thanks to Extra Slow Thinner 708. 

Resistance tests of Extrem matte varnish

Excellent resistance to thermal shock (Test according to EU-48025)
Excellent resistance to water, humidity and weather (test according to DIN-50017)
No yellowing, excellent UV resistance (test according to ISO 11341)
High hardness : pencil hardness 3H (UN 78267 : 1996) / Buchholz hardness : 14 (0 : the hardest, 100 the softest)
Perfect resistance to chemicals and hydrocarbons
 
Preservation in the original packaging : 6 months

Complete car varnishing and large surfaces :

In order to slow down the drying time (a little too fast for clearcoats of this type), it is possible to request the replacement of the normal thinner
by a slow diluent. Just write us this clarification by email just after your order.
