Semi-matt two-component topcoat for bodywork. Professional-quality product, with anti-yellowing properties.



The ST-820 Semi-Matte Clear Coat is suitable for car, motorcycle, scooter and bicycle bodywork. Stardust's Topcoats benefit from the latest chemical innovations in resins, giving them exceptional hardness and resistance. This product has been tested and is recognized in many European countries for 10 years, and produces a very beautiful semi-matte effect.

Variance Mat Range

The ST-820 Semi-Matte Topcoat has a minimum gloss level (40°), but offers sufficient gloss, just enough not to hide the metallic or pearl effect paints. It allows to preserve the pearl and metallic effects, which disappear with too matte topcoats.

Therefore, it is a good compromise between matte and gloss finish, for those who are looking for a MAT effect without losing the iridescent effect of modern bodywork paints.
It's less matte than our matte and extreme matte clear coats, but provides more gloss than our satin topcoat.

Very high hardness: 3H
It is also possible to apply the product on plastics and metals.
Very high resistance to chemicals and abrasion, great stretchability and quick drying

Complete kits including varnish (1L or 5L), hardener H423 (0.2L or 1L) and thinner (0.15L or 0.5L)

Mixture

Shake well for 30 seconds.
Add 20% of H423 Hardener by weight
Add 10% of PU Acrylic Thinner
Leave the mixture to stand 5 min before application
Mixture useful life: 4h

Application

Spray gun 1.0 - 1.5mm
Roller
Apply 1-2 thin passes.
Avoid making thick passes.
(120g/m²)
The matt appearance can be observed after the semi-matte clear coat has dried.

Drying at 20 °C :
- Dry to the touch : 30min
- Through-drying : 4h
- Overcoating : 5h

Matte varnishes dry quickly.

When painting large parts, it is recommended to reduce the drying speed in order to avoid "seam" or "dusting" defects, thanks to Extra Slow Thinner 708.

Complete car varnishing and large surfaces :

In order to slow down the drying time (a little too fast for clearcoats of this type), it is possible to request the replacement of the normal thinner
