Chevrolet color code
This reference composed of numbers and letters can be easily found in different places on the bodywork, and usually, in the passenger door opening.
It is possible to designate a paint with a color name, as an alternative to the color code. You can get more information from your local dealer for the Chevrolet brand.
>>> Send us this reference by email for your Chevrolet paint, just after placing your order.
The preparatory steps
It is always important to work on a prepared and cleaned surface.
When working on a raw support, such as metal, plastic, it is important to use a specific adhesion primer.
When the support has suffered impacts and scratches, it is recommended to use a putty if necessary, and in all cases a filler primer.
To allow and guarantee perfect adhesion of the paint, the base must be sanded with a 500 abrasive sheet.
Make sure the surface is perfectly clean. If possible, use degreaser or soapy water. The surface must be perfectly dry and free of dust before painting.
Summary instructions for application
Shake the aerosol vigorously for 60 seconds.
Or stir the paint perfectly with a ruler.
Use a paint gun with a 0.8 to 1.4mm nozzle.
The size of the nozzle is not important, it is always possible to dilute the paint to make it more fluid, to be used with mini guns.
Work at a moderate temperature between 15 and 25 degrees.
Paint 2 to 3 coats, and more if necessary, allowing a few minutes of drying time between each coat. Avoid thick coats at all costs and favor thin coats.
When applying a Chevrolet metallic paint, it is possible as a final pass, to apply "1/2 coat" with a greater distance from the gun to the support.
Allow 10 minutes to dry, and a maximum of 30 minutes, before applying your clearcoat.
The clearcoat is a very important step because it constitutes the final layer of shine and protection for the paint and also the sheet metal. Always use a 2-component varnish. We recommend our Ultra High Solid BS830 clearcoat
