Colour created from the CITROEN colour code.
Solvent-based monocomponent paint (1K basecoat) delivered in cans or aerosol sprays, colour code to be specified.
For CITROEN vehicles, the colour-coded plate (vinplate) can be found in three different places.
- On the front bonnet
- Inside the passenger or driver doors
- On the fuse panel
You can use the pictures below to illustrate the location.
The colour code always consists of three characters (letters or numbers).
Our Colorist recreates especially for you all the Citroen car body colours whether they are simple, pearlescent or metallic.
> The CITROEN colour code must be mentioned in the Code box on the basket validation page or simply after the order by e-mail to info@stardustcolors.com
Our colourist will contact you in case of need, or if the code is not correct.
Our high quality paints are suitable for all retouching, complete finishing or decoration works, and once varnished, they are perfectly resistant to bad weather conditions (heat, cold, sun, rain)
Preparation for the application of Citroen 1K basecoat paint :
Often a simple light sanding of the old paint is sufficient, to allow the paint to adhere to the surface.
It is imperative to dry well, degrease and then collect the dust with our wiping pad. Under no circumstances should the existing paint be stripped.
The paint is delivered ready to use for the 250 and 500 ml packs.
The kits contain Pure paint to be diluted between 60 and 70% depending on the colour with the thinner supplied.
1K solvent-based basecoats are particularly easy to apply.
They can be used with all types of spray guns, using thin coats (spray gun with approx. 1.3 mm nozzle).
The thinner the coats, the faster they dry and the shorter the time between coats.
At 20°C the coats are applied one after the other, while at cold temperatures it is necessary to wait 5 minutes between each coat.
Professional application method recommended :
One very thin coat ( to find any defects)
one (or two) coat(s) with an interval of 5 min
For pearlescent/metallic : finish with half a coat with less pressure and with a little more distance to the substrate;
Topcoat :
Varnish after 15 minutes, with any of our varnishes
Do not wait to varnish, because after 30 minutes, the adhesion is theoretically no longer possible.
Coverage: 6-7m²/L in 2 coats
For aerosol sprays, the coverage is 1 aerosol spray = 0.5m² max
Other technical data :
VOC g/L: <860 (diluted)
