JETMETAL Technologies is a French company currently a leader in spray metallization technology, which cannot be classified among car paint brands, but which nevertheless sees its solutions being used frequently in the field of bodywork and car customization.
Many OEM automotive components use the technique of metallization, which is different from chrome painting, as it is a chemical process that deposits a layer of silver on a surface to create a perfect chrome metal effect.
The spray metallization technique is used in many fields, from the manufacture and finishing of perfumes, for example, to the decoration of shop windows and statutes, which is in the artistic and visual field.
JetMetal is also involved in certain technical fields involving the conductivity of metal, or the imitation of the chrome effect in the world of perfumery, electronics, architecture...
The company has developed its technology, which is now recognized worldwide by many industrial and luxury customers. It relies on its scientific innovation in the chemical field which has resulted in patented technologies in nearly 40 countries.
The French company offers the integration of systems for the industrial application of these solutions. What is known as the chrome effect or spray metallization consists of spraying chemical solutions onto a support in order to reproduce a so-called silver mirror layer. The process works on any type of small shape and can sometimes be applied to very large objects. The thickness of the deposited metal never exceeds a few microns.
Car paint applicators can use these metallization solutions on bodywork or helmets to imitate chrome plating.
The process invented by Jetmétal represents a real technological breakthrough, which in addition to allowing any type of support to be chromed, is an ecologically responsible system with zero CMR.
Initially, the launch of a research project in a laboratory at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon, where the founder of the company, a professor of chemistry, was able to develop an innovative technique for applying the chrome effect by spraying.
It was in 2007 that the company took off with the founding of the Jetmétal company, which experienced very strong and constant growth with nearly 75% of exports. The company benefits from its status as a leader in the field and protects its know-how with several international patents. Today, a team of 30 people works at the company's headquarters where the laboratories, design offices, test workshops and offices are grouped together.
The company's products are varied and numerous. They each correspond to different areas of application. As far as the metallization technique outside of industrial installations is concerned, there are kits distributed by Stardust which are composed of a very specific varnish which constitutes the base but also the finish for the entire metallization system : this is the varnish VB 110 which is a two-component polyurethane with exceptional properties.
The metallization products offer is made up of concentrates, which are mixed in a very precise way, either by weight or by volume, with distilled water in order to be sprayed in a precise order and following a rigorous technique.
