Among the methods of using paints, here is the one that gives the best results in terms of speed of application of the dry film of paints : the layer is thin, homogeneous and smooth. Airbrush, gun, aerosol and chrome spraying is the only method used in the automotive world.
The main particularity is that only the paint touches the support : the applicator and its tool are at no time in contact with the support, as rollers, brushes or others can be.
It is with the help of nozzles, and more generally tools such as pneumatic guns, that the products are projected onto the support. It is not only the product that is sprayed, but a mixture of paint and air that is ejected under pressure in a fine mist.
This product mist, is more technically the result of the atomization of the product, in the form of microscopic droplets. The jet or spray for airbrush, spray gun, aerosol and chrome plating makes it possible to deposit the paint in an optimal quantity, to deposit it again without removing part of the previous layer as a roller or a brush does. It also promotes quick drying.
This is the finest and most precise way to spray paint. You can paint with an airbrush all types of products, as long as it is thin enough or diluted to pass through the fine nozzles, which measure between 0.15 and 0.5mm.
The bodywork guns, project a jet of adjustable shape and size (both in round point and in the form of a flat triangular jet). Painting with a spray gun gives magnificent results and yields speed - drying - economy - unequaled quality, provided you master the technique.
Even though a "can of paint" contains the same product as a can of spray paint, painting with a can of paint is convenient, but not as easy, precise, or effective. For example, with the impossibility of adjusting the flow rate of the jet, we speak more of fast layers than of thin layers. Also, we never reach the 2 bars necessary to properly spray the paint like a gun.
We are really talking here about a chemical process with the projection of liquids, more than painting with a chrome plating machine. The metallization technique with silver works on all supports. Generally, the products (activator, water, silver nitrate solutions) are sprayed on the part with a series of guns, plastic sprayers or double nozzle guns.
