Contraindications of silver plating

The ultra-thin silver layer, which makes up the chrome look, has a natural sensitivity to sunlight, which causes oxidation and yellowing. This process is inevitable for pieces permanently exposed outdoors and takes between 6 months and 5 years.
Silvering does not undergo any aging indoors : one can observe silvered pieces for ten years, which have not undergone any alteration of their sparkling chrome effect.

Tinting the chrome with Candy

With the addition of a few drops of Candy ink, it is possible to tint the varnishes and thus give any color to the chrome layer. In addition to the splendid effect, of luminous, radiant and deep color, it becomes possible with this technique to thwart the effects of time and UVs by masking the lack of yellowing.
For example, by applying a green, yellow, orange or even red clearcoat, the yellowing will remain invisible.
