In certain situations, special varnishes are used which, thanks to certain particular technical characteristics, provide a solution : far from being a traditional clearcoat, a technical clearcoat is specialized for a certain application and it does not not recommended for any use.
Technical clearcoats come from state-of-the-art formulations : they excel in a specific area, but are "weak" in other cases. For example, we can take the case among technical varnishes, of the only varnish in the world to be able to hang on chrome. Despite this remarkable performance, this varnish has a certain finesse and does not have the thickness and resistance of other varnishes.
It is often in the industry, that we find this type of finish (final coating) transparent, shiny, satin or matte. Each product is adapted to a need, a specific problem. Here is a very good scenario : a coffee capsule manufacturer who is going to create a new model of organic coffee capsule, will see the need to cover these paper or plastic capsules with a protective layer, which can withstand hot water for 60 min, passing food standard tests and also being bio-degradable !
In the architectural field, there are anti-UV, anti-salt, anti-corrosion coatings... Imagine that even in a field like agriculture, we find these special finishes : let's take the example of greenhouses, there are transparent lacquers which block the heat, by reflecting the infra-reds of sunlight, responsible for heating. In France, Stardust is a leader in the innovation and creation of technical varnishes.
The company develops varnishes of all kinds, for all professional needs: do you need varnish in the polished aluminum of solar ovens ? Or a technical varnish capable of withstanding 700°C, or technical varnishes for silver plating containing optical brighteners ? Even the silver coins manufactured by the Banque de France, there are fine varnishes that can hang on silver specifically.
Not to be confused with expandable ! The flexible varnish is able to withstand twisting and bending up to 180° angles without breaking or cracking.
You should know that classic varnishes harden over months and years : they become brittle. Flexible varnishes are used in many areas, especially on leather !
Here we find fertile ground for the prowess of paint chemists : hanging varnishes must be capable of guaranteeing adhesion, on all kinds of surfaces and materials... There are dozens and dozens of them. many deny most paintings the right to cling to it !
