Mixing :
It only concerns the "pure Mercedes paint + thinner" kit packaging
the paint in the kits is delivered pure and must be diluted appropriately (from 60 to 80%) with our V1 thinner delivered in the kit

Successful application of paint on a Mercedes vehicle : PRO advice

Solvent-based matt basecoats are particularly easy to apply : they can be applied with all types of spray guns, using thin coats (approx. 1.3 mm), the thinner they are, the faster they dry, and therefore the shorter the time between coats : at 20°C, the coats are applied in succession, whereas at cold temperatures, you wait 5 minutes.

Professional application method recommended :
One very thin coat (to see possible defects)
One (or two) coat(s) with an interval of 5 min.

For pearlescent/metallic : finish with half a coat with less pressure and with a little more distance to the substrate;
Topcoat:
Varnish after 15 minutes, with any of our car topcoats*.
You should not wait to varnish, because after 30 minutes, the adhesion is no longer possible in theory.

Additional tips to ensure proper preparation before painting :
Background :
It is not always necessary to apply a primer. Often a simple light sanding of the old paint is sufficient (800 grit paper), to allow adhesion.
Dry well, degrease with our degreaser, (to avoid reactions due to invisible contaminants) then pick up the dust with our wiping pad. Under no circumstances should the existing paint be stripped.

Please note ! For some transparent pearlescent factory colours, it is necessary to apply a special coloured primer : some of these colours have little coverage or transparency.
For peace of mind and to ensure even and fast coverage, use our Stardust FAST Primer (available in different colour of grey). For damaged or puttyed backgrounds, apply our filler primer
