The Hydro series of metallic colours is a water-based formula, of professional quality, and intended for the automobile, but not only, since these paints can be used for architectural or decorative applications.

Hydro metallic paints offer a wide range of shades with iridescent and metallic reflections, with the classic natural colours of gold, copper, aluminium and bronze, but also a series of varied, bright and sparkling colours, formulated with aluminium or mother-of-pearl pigments, and a series of transparent iridescent colours (GHOST).

Hydro metallic paints have excellent levels of UV resistance.

Single-component acrylic

type base coat (Two-coat system)

Mixture :

Mix and stir well before use

Thinning up to 10% with distilled water or water-based paint thinner

Application method :

Air gun

1.3 mm to 1.4 mm nozzle and 2.0 bar air pressure (HVLP)

On a base (black or white*) sanded with P400-P500.

Application in 3 coats with 5 min intervals

then a thin "placement" coat by moving the gun away

Varnishing :

With all types of automotive clearcoats

Application of the clearcoat after drying to the touch (30 min at 20°C)

Coating without sanding : 24 hours max

Base colors :

Metallic or pearlescent colors have different levels of opacity.

In most cases they are semi-transparent, and this requires the application of a preliminary undercoat which must be respected according to the reference (black or white).

Respecting the undercoat color is very important because it changes the appearance of the final color.

Most of the time, the colors must be applied on a black background, with the exception of light and bright colors.
