To know the quantity of MINI paint needed, here are the yields:

The MINI color code takes the form of a sequence of 3 to 4 characters (numbers and/or letters) in upper case

Mixing
Stir or shake well before use
Dilute pure versions with 50 or 70% thinner
Example: 100 ml of pure paint + 60 ml of thinner
The mixture can be made by volume or weight with a scale
The mixture is approximate

Preparation of the support
This is the most important step: having a base (old varnish or new primer) correctly sanded with 500, dusted, degreased, and very dry, will give your paint every chance of being perfectly applied, without defects or reactions.

If your support is not regular, that is to say it is scratched or damaged, then apply a surfacer filler primer.

The steps for applying a MINI paint with a spray gun or aerosol

1 / Sand the base with 500 grit, degrease, clean, dry, dust

2 / Ensure perfect urination of the paint in a pot or aerosol.

3 / Apply a few coats until the base is completely covered. Allow 2 to 5 minutes between coats

4 / Gun nozzle from 1.0mm to 1.5mm. Always paint perpendicular to the surface and keep a distance of 12-15cm between the nozzle and the surface.

5 / allow the paint to dry and evaporate for 15-20 min. During this time, prepare your clearcoat by mixing it with the hardener. Apply the varnish before 30 minutes have passed, with 2 glossy coats spaced 10 minutes apart.

If you are doing a touch-up on a part, then you must always varnish the entire part.

The clearcoat
Applying a bodywork clearcoat is a delicate task. If you do not apply enough clearcoat, then the finish is not perfectly glossy and you get a defect called "orange peel"
On the contrary, if you apply too much, the risk of dripping is very high.
The secret to successful varnish is therefore depositing the right amount of clearcoat on the surface.
To successfully clearcoat, you must apply 2 glossy coats with a waiting interval of 10 minutes. The speed of movement of the gun, the distance to the support, and the ambient temperature are parameters to control.
