Application Method
Use a paint gun with a 1.0-1.4mm nozzle
1 - Apply the black basecoat. One-component, ready-to-use pre-diluted paint. Apply a few thin coats. a drying interval of two minutes is sufficient between each coat
Within 10 to 30 minutes maximum, follow with step 2
2 - Apply the metallic or pearlescent paint, with a few very thin coats until the bottom is covered (black or white). One-component, ready-to-use pre-diluted paint. A drying interval of one to two minutes is sufficient between each coat.
Within 10 to 30 minutes maximum, follow with step 3
3 - Prepare the Candy clearcoat with 100 parts of clearcoat + 33 parts of hardener (volume or weight) + 5 to 10 parts of thinner
Apply the Candy clearcoat in two to three coats. Respect a drying time of 7 to 10 minutes between each layer. If you want to apply a larger number of layers, it is better to apply these layers the next day after complete drying and sanding at 500 with water
Tips for painting motorcycle fairings:
It is not necessary to apply a primer when painting motorcycle parts: each plastic or steel fairing has already been painted in factory. The substrate is not of plastic or steel, but good paint/topcoat. Therefore, no primer is required to create adhesion on the surface. A simple light sanding with 800 or 1200 and water is enough.
If the surface is very damaged, or if stickers remain under the clearcoat, our filler can be used, in a few layers, to have a perfectly levelled surface after sanding.
If the "base mate 1C" version is chosen, the varnish is not included in the offer. The varnish must be purchased separately
