Application method:
The KAWASAKI Lime Green Paint - 40R - GOLDEN BLAZED GREEN MET must be applied over a RAL7016 Dark Grey background (Primer or base).
The application of a primer may not be mandatory:
it will be enough to very slightly sand the old paint with 800 grit abrasive paper to recreate adhesion.
All you have to do is dry well, degrease (to avoid reactions due to invisible contaminants), then use our wiping pad to collect dust.
Caution: do not strip the existing paint!
Preparation of the paint:
With the 250ml and 500ml versions, the KAWASAKI Lime Green Paint - 40R - GOLDEN BLAZED GREEN MET is delivered ready for use
Kits for KAWASAKI Lime Green Paint - 40R - GOLDEN BLAZED GREEN MET are delivered pure.
To obtain the necessary viscosity, add 60% of V1 thinner (supplied in the kit)
Application:
The KAWASAKI Lime Green Paint - 40R - GOLDEN BLAZED GREEN MET (solvent-based 1K Basecoat) is very easy to apply:
By applying thin passes with any type of spray gun (1.3 or 1.4 nozzle)
The thinner the passes, the quicker the drying, so the interval between each layer will be shorter: At an ambient temperature of 20°C, the coats are applied one after the other, whereas in cold temperature you must wait 5 minutes.
Recommended professional application method:
A very thin pass (to detect any defect) then one or two coats with a 5 min interval
Finish with a half layer with less pressure and at a larger spacing from the support;
Clear coat:
Apply topcoat after 15min, with any of our clear coats (See Topcoats category)
Don’t wait to apply topcoat: beyond 30min, the adhesion is not sufficient anymore, in theory.
Yield: 6-7m²/L in 2 coats
For aerosols, the coverage is 1 aerosol = 0.6m² max
Other technical features:
VOC g/L: <860 (thinned)
