Find the PEUGEOT paint code, easily :
For PEUGEOT vehicles, the vinplate can be found in three different places.
- Inside the engine bay.
- On the front left door panel (driver's side).
- On the left front door post (driver's side).
You can use the images provided below to illustrate the location.
The colour code always consists of three characters (letters or numbers).
How to apply Peugeot matt base paint :
Mixing:
Peugeot car paint is delivered ready to use in its 250 ml and 500 ml formats.
For the different kits, it is delivered pure with its thinner.
The dilution is to be done between 60 and 80% (look at the precise percentage on the can directly)
How to apply a professional paint job on your Peugeot car
Use a spray gun with a 1.3 mm nozzle
Start with a very thin coat in order to spot any defects
Then follow up with one or two coats spaced 5 minutes apart
Tip for pearlescent/metallic paints : finish with half a coat with less pressure and a little more distance from the surface;
Topcoat :
Varnish after 15 minutes, with any of our car topcoats
Do not wait to varnish, because after 30 minutes the adhesion is theoretically no longer possible.
For extra protection we recommend our scratch resistant car topcoat.
Additional tips to ensure good preparation before painting :
Background :
It is not always necessary to apply a primer. Often a simple light sanding of the old paint is sufficient (800 grit paper), to allow adhesion.
Dry well, degrease with our degreaser, (to avoid reactions due to invisible contaminants) then pick up the dust with our wiping pad.
Under no circumstances should the existing paint be stripped.
