Pinstripping special paints are solvent-based, ready-to-use (it is possible to add 10 to 20% of White Spirit)
They are ideal for drawing nice lines in one go using pinstripping brushes (synthetic or squirrel hair).
An automotive topcoat can be applied over or not (they can be catalyzed with 10% of hardener if so desired)
Cleaning is done with all types of bodywork thinner, or using our universal thinner (see bottom of page) or White Spirit.
Tips: To keep your pinstriping brushes in good condition: After cleaning, soak the brushes with body oil, and avoid keeping them dry.
Q: Does pinstriping paint need a finishing topcoat, for example for a motorcycle tank?
A: Pinstripping paint is a one-part gloss finish,
it does not necessarily need finishing topcoat.
However, if you want a well-leveled and evenly shiny finish, then you need to varnish.
Ditto pinstriping paint, is not resistant to hydrocarbons,
so it may need a topcoat to protect it, especially when applying to a motorcycle tank
