In stock
Stardust offers two models of professional quality pneumatic sanders (Class B Japan and Class C Taiwan), equipped with 150mm plates, with 5mm orbit.
These two high quality sanding machines are suitable for intensive use and their high power
and their high power allows a great efficiency, saving time and effectiveness.
They are durable tools, assembled with excellent quality parts and components.
Details of the offers
Both models are self-vacuuming and come with a hose and dust collection bag, as well as a 6-hole plate with Velcro backing.
Each pneumatic sander has a male pneumatic fitting, a speed control knob, and a variable pressure trigger.
Rotation speed : up to 12,000 rotations per minute
Difference between a budget price tool and a professional tool
Compared to the consumer model, the power level of these two pneumatic orbital sanders is very high :
an entry-level pneumatic sander (class D) has a reduced speed when too much pressure is applied with the hand
Specifications : Pneumatic sanders Quality B and C
Quality C is an entry-level quality for professionals with good performance levels at economical prices
Class B « Japan » ASGB650 |
Class C « Taiwan » AS450 |
Type : Orbital - pneumatic |
Type : Orbital - pneumatic |
The superior quality Class B includes high quality components, allowing a longer life and a sustained work rate.
The quality of a sander is defined by the quality of its components, metals and plastics used in its manufacture : this determines the quality and robustness of a tool.
For occasional use, we recommend the class C model, which is already more efficient than most of the sanders sold in the consumer range.
For professionals we recommend the Class B model.
Self-vacuuming of sanding residues
Some sanders require connection to a vacuum cleaner.
The ASGB650 and AS600 sanders are self-vacuuming, the movement of their impeller efficiently evacuates the sanding dust through the hose provided, to a bag that stores the dust.
What is orbital sanding ?
Both of our pneumatic sanders are orbital type, with a 5 mm orbit
What is the difference between concentric and orbital sanding ?
Concentric sanding forms a perfect circle around a fixed central point.
Orbital sanding forms a circle around a central point, which itself describes a rotation whose radius is expressed in millimeters. Orbital sanding is more diffuse and homogeneous, while concentric sanding creates marks and grooves more easily.
In body painting, orbital sanding should be used.
What is the difference between a sander and a polisher ?
First, the polisher does not need to have orbital rotation.
Also, a polisher needs to produce a much lower speed (4 to 5 X lower) than a sander.
Sanding discs and sanding plates :
Here we offer 150 mm sanding discs (quality similar to 3M or Mirka) with different grits from 40 to 1000
We offer 150 mm soft or hard plates
The 5 main grades of pneumatic sander qualities
A+ |
Represents the high-end market, with brands such as Festool® and Rupes®. Waterproof and dustproof, A+ sanders create less vibration, are more stable, more powerful, more durable. |
A |
These are high quality sanders, allowing rotations between 12000 and 14000 rpm, with brands like 3M® or Mirka®, all parts are of high quality manufacturing. |
B |
The B grade is an excellent quality of sander, which can be compared to the tools present on the Japanese market. It is also referred to as Nippon grade. |
C |
Pneumatic sanders that are both reliable and powerful, and at the same time affordable in the world of professional tools. It is the quality of manufacture of the TAIWAN market |
D |
Economic series, For the many customers who are making a first time trial purchase, or those who want to work while saving on equipment. These pneumatic sanders are very popular because their price is good and their quality is very stable. However, these non-professional tools cannot deliver good power levels. |
