REPAINT is a colorless product allowing to recreate an adhesion without sanding on automotive or industrial paints and varnishes before varnishing or applying another product.

REPAINT is a clear primer specially designed to create a bond between a paint, a plate, a clearcoat and a new covering layer, without any sanding. REPAINT is exclusive to StardustColors
REPAINT is especially useful and practical when the covering time* is too long between the application of the paint underneath and the new coat of paint or clearcoat.
Sometimes, it can also be difficult or impossible to sand. This is the case with delicate pearl paints and airbrush decorations : sanding with an abrasive sponge can damage them.
The covering time is an essential notion in the field of body painting. It refers to the rules of the art of painting. Once the paint is dry, a new paint cannot adhere to its surface without sanding. Here are the maximum covering times for different types of paint (20°C):
Solvent-based 1K basecoat : 30 min
Hydro 1K basecoat : 24-72h
2K paints and clearcoat : 1h
Field of use :
Apply REPAINT before applying topcoats to ensure proper adhesion of automotive or industrial paint.
Repaint is intended primarily for paint adhesion.
Other substrates :
On raw materials, we offer a variety of specific or general adhesion primers here : plastics, brass, aluminum, metal or chrome.

Preparation of the background
Preferably, clean the substrate of any visible or invisible impurities, such as dirt, oil, grease and demolding agents, with isopropyl alcohol or degreaser. Dry well after cleaning.
REPAINT allows to adhere without sanding
Mixing and applying
Ready to use, one-component product
Apply REPAINT in half a coat (thin adhesion coat), followed after 5 minutes by a thin coat
As with all adhesion promoters, it is recommended to apply a thin coat. Thicker coats tend to increase the risk of delamination.
It is very important to cover REPAINT quickly with the next coat of paint. Apply as soon as the thin coat of REPAINT is sticky (2-3 min). If you wait until it is completely dry, you will have to apply a new coat of REPAINT
Tool cleaning :
with car body thinner
Adjusting the gun :
3 bar / nozzle 0,5 - 1,4 mm
Yield : 10m² / Liter / 1 coat
Question : I paint a lot with airbrush over periods that can exceed 2 hours and my work is very often not sandable or even passable with a green or gray sponge because my layers of paint are very thin for some.
Can REPAINT be applied as the last pass just before the UHS clearcoat ?
Answer : yes perfectly, REPAINT is specially made for that
