Non-harmful water-based formula (maximum 3% mild solvent)
Definition and use of a Candy
A Candy is a totally transparent shade, so it has a light coloring role. Since it is transparent, it is normally necessary to apply it in conjunction with a second metallic or pearl coat to bounce the light.
Candy paint in RC model making can sometimes be applied without an undercoat, when you want to tint the areas of the windows or windshields for example.
Preparation of the substrates
Lexan RC bodies must be perfectly clean, dry and free of dust. To avoid any trace of invisible contaminants, use our Hikari RC degreaser.
Candy paints from the Hikari range can be applied directly without sanding and guarantee perfect adhesion.
Application
The paints are ready to use and are liquid enough to be used with most airbrush nozzles. Additional dilution can be added with our Hikari RC thinners.
Candy colors are usually applied in several coats. The final color obtained will differ according to the number of coats applied : the more coats applied, the darker the color will be.
Recommended application temperature : 15 - 25 °C
Allow 2 to 5 minutes drying time between coats
Recoverability : 24 hours
Advice for use
Hikari RC colors can be mixed together to create other color variations
We recommend to apply metallic paints based on pure aluminum to the back of the Candy.
