HRC600 - Iridescent paint for HIKARI RC Models on lexan

Iridescent Color Series Declines ultra vivid colors with a colorful, shimmering effect visible from certain viewing angles.
These are water-based airbrush paints.
They must be applied in the first position, then covered with a white background. They are not opaque colors, they are semi-transparent colors and cannot cover other colors.

Special iridescence effect

Iridescent reflections appear or disappear depending on the point of observation. Iridescent paints therefore create a dual color with an ultra vivid and intense base color, And a «light » color that juxtaposes on the base color depending on the light and the viewing angle.
The base color and the color of the reflection can be similar and sometimes contrasting depending on the references
The iridescent color produces an optical phenomenon of interference. It is made possible by glass-based pearls called "diamond pearls". These are transparent and sparkling pearlescent effects like micro flakes.

Adhesion on Lexan® - Flexibility - high resistance - durability
The specific formula of Hikari RC paints has been developed to withstand the extreme conditions that Lexan bodies undergo during races.
In order to resist torsion, tension, engine heat, stone impact and course crashes, Hikari RC paints guarantee a perfect adhesion on the LEXAN plastic, without sanding. All our colors are non-stripping once painted inside the transparent LEXAN hulls.
They also avoid any risk of peeling when superimposing coats and masking with scalpel cuts. It is also important to respect the overlap interval between the coats*.

To obtain a maximum level of adhesion and unbreakable, it is possible to use our adhesion promoter for Lexan

Use

With airbrush > 0.3 mm or HVLP gun
Shake the bottle well before use, until the pearls are perfectly mixed
Dilute only if necessary, with HRC101
Apply directly on the clean Lexan (dust free, dry, degreased)
Apply several thin coats (4 to 5) until an intense color is obtained

Multi-layer system

In RC painting, the painting system is reversed :

instead of applying : White base / iridescent paint / clearcoat

we apply under the : Clear Lexan / Iridescent Paints / White Base

Maximum coverage interval

Hikari RC water-based paints can be covered without sanding for an interval of 24 to 48 hours maximum. Beyond that time, it is necessary to sand with an abrasive sponge to regain a good adhesion.
The longer you wait to cover them, the weaker the adhesion between the 2 coats of paint. It is therefore recommended to cover the paints within 2 hours to have an optimal adhesion.
When you have to make cuts and remove adhesives, and you don't want to be pressed for time, it is better to let the paint dry for 24 hours, and then sand it.
