To know your need, that is to say your quantity of paint necessary for your touch-up or your complete painting, the rule is simple:

The yield of 1 liter of diluted paint and approximately 4 to 5 m²
As for aerosols, this covers approximately 0.4m² max

The composition of our SKODA paints

This is professional quality paint whose composition is a solvent-based acrylic polyester formula. This is a single-component "1C" paint.
The paint is already diluted for small formats, it is delivered pure with the thinner separately for the 1L and 2L kits

Skoda paints are easy to use, easy to succeed, and the application of which is within the reach of all diligent and careful people. It is very important to take maximum care during each of the painting stages:

- Preparation of the surface:

This is by far the most important step. We advise you to apply a filling primer in order to obtain a uniform background color, when you paint an entire room, and especially when this room has been partially covered with putty.
The application of the primer is not mandatory in all cases, especially when the original background paint is in good condition and you are going to do a simple touch-up on an area. In such a case, simply sand lightly with a 500 grit sandpaper.
The cleanliness of the background before applying the paint is crucial to the success of your application. The surface must be properly degreased and dusted before painting.

- Applying the paint:

Strangely enough, this is the easiest step. The paint must be perfectly agitated or stirred. The application is done with a spray gun with a nozzle between 0.8 and 1.5 mm. The distance from the surface must be regular, between 12 and 15 centimeters. The spray gun passes from left to right, and from right to left. You must apply 2 to 3 thin coats, because it is by applying thin coats that you obtain the best results. Do not hesitate to apply as many coats as necessary to cover the background. Between each coat, wait between 2 and 5 minutes for the paint to dry and evaporate. Varnish before 30 minutes.

- Clearcoating:

This is the riskiest step, because it is easy to make drips. The secret of a successful clearcoat lies in applying the right amount of varnish. When the layers are too thin, then we obtain a result with little shine, while if the layers are too heavy, then drips are assured.

Important advice:

Always work in a dry environment and at a moderate temperature, between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Never apply your clearcoat when the weather is humid or windy.

Apply a test plate before starting to paint your car.
Respect the drying times and the recoating times

You don't know your color code?

You can easily find this paint reference on your bodywork. Usually it is found on the inside of the passenger door. The Skoda color code takes the form of 3 or 4 letters and numbers.

You can also ask your Skoda dealer who will undoubtedly be able to give you a precise answer.
