The SUHS-A clearcoat Is a glossy and colorless water-dilutable acrylic fire-retardant clearcoat that meets the "Euroclasse" FEU classification whose codification goes from A to F

It is an innovative water-based aliphatic polyurethane type acrylic clearcoat

Our SUHS-A intumescent clearcoat is classified A2. It is recommended for fire protection classification, in particular on CE products. It retards the spread of flames because it is non-flammable.

The product Varnish anti-fire Euroclass SUHS-A is an architectural and decorative varnish

Fire reaction test: The M* or Euroclass classifications concern the fire reaction (flammability, smoke, etc.)

CLASSIFICATION OF THE REACTION TO FIRE Varnish anti-fire Euroclass (SUHS-A)
IN ACCORDANCE WITH NF EN 13501-1: 2018
Classification report number: DO-24-6202A-R1 (CREPIM Laboratory, France)
►Flame propagation, NF EN 13823+A1: Compliant
►Flaming droplets/particles: Compliant

Classification:
The product, Varnish anti-fire Euroclasse - Reference: SUHS-A, according to its behavior in the event of fire, is classified A2
The additional classification in relation to the production of smoke is: s1
The additional classification in relation to the flaming droplets/particles is d0

In other words: A2 – s1, d0

The classification is valid for the following end-use conditions
Support: Without substrate

Euroclassz fire classification

Euroclasses is a European standardized classification relating to the reaction to fire of construction products.

> Euroclasses "A" for reaction to fire apply compulsorily to CE marked products.

> For all other products, it is possible to choose the old M classification. We offer a class M1 fire-resistant clearcoat

There are correspondences between the Euroclasses (from A to F) and the M classification (see table below)

A flammable material will ignite quickly and will spread the fire, while an A or M1 clearcoat or material will hardly ignite, and therefore will delay the fire

What is the fire resistance duration of Euroclass varnish?

The M or Euroclass classifications concern the fire reaction (flammability, smoke, etc.)
These are standards that concern cases of fire outbreaks.
While the many fire resistance classifications (durability, integrity, sealing, insulation, etc.) are something different, there are many standards applied to each material. EN1363 is the classic standard.
The fire resistance of materials is classified with the codes ei 30, ei60 (sealed insulation + time in minutes)

These are standards that concern fires in progress
and the tests are done above 1000° for long periods.
This never concerns paints and varnishes.

Of course our M class or Euroclasse varnishes can be integrated into a fire-resistant system (for example fire doors)

Resistance reaction levels of fire-retardant materials and clearcoats

In the field of fire safety, there is a difference between these 2 notions :

>>> reaction to fire, defined by the M classification : It represents the behavior of the clearcoat or material (wood, paper, concrete) as fire fuel (combustibility, flammability). 5 levels from M0 (non-flammable) to M4 (highly flammable)

For the Euroclass classification (A is the best classification and F the worst)

>>> fire resistance : In a fire, it is the duration during which a clearcoat (or material) retains its physical and mechanical properties

Euroclasses also specify two essential criteria, for which our SUHS-A clearcoat has been tested in the laboratory :

- Smoke opacity (quantity and speed) from S1 (low speed and quantity) to S3 (fast)

- flaming droplets and debris rated D from D0 (none) to D2

*The classification of our Euroclasse A2 clearcoat is the result of tests carried out by a specialized test laboratory (CREPIM France). It gives rise to a fire classification report.

Standards and regulations

- Standard NF P. 92.507, for reaction to fire with Classification M

- A European decree of November 21, 2002 - Euroclasse ce

the clearcoat doesn't confer any classification on its base material
