2K PU-FLEX flexible paint – 2K paint in can or aerosol spray

Our 2K flexible polyurethane paint is a 2K Finish specially created to coat flexible surfaces without the risk of peeling or cracking.

Unlike other two-component paints, which become increasingly hard and brittle over weeks, months and years, PU-FLEX 2K paint retains its excellent flexibility (bending resistance up to 90°) throughout its lifetime (10 to 20 years).

Kit 1.75L : 1L Lacquer + 500ml Hardener H420 + 250ml Thinner V1
Kit 8.5L : 5L Lacquer + 2.5L Hardener H420 + 1L Thinner V1
Aerosol : 290ml Bi-component

Use :
Flexible 2K paint can be used on quad and motorcycle fairings, sheet metal, tarpaulins, bumpers, and all types of indoor/outdoor applications.

What about the other coats that are part of a complete paint system ?

• Primer : On flexible surfaces (e.g. a Quad), it is advisable to reduce the thickness as much as possible by sanding. In general, primers are not hard products and remain flexible.

• Hydro or solvant-based 1K basecoat : all monocomponents are thin and naturally quite flexible

The danger of cracking and peeling therefore only applies to 2K paints and two-component clearcoats.

Formula : 

Acrylic polyurethane. Solvent-based and flammable product. Read and follow safety instructions, especially those concerning isocyanates.

High overall resistance :

resistant to petrol, weather, UV, abrasion, detergents.

Impacts : PU-FLEX 2K paint better absorbs impacts, e.g. from stones or gravel, and reduces the chance of cracking on impact.

Substrates :

The flexible 2K paint can be used on quad and motorcycle fairings, sheet metal, tarpaulins, bumpers and all types of interior/exterior applications.

Our 2K paint can be applied directly to a wide range of substrates, without the need for specific adhesion primers.

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals : good direct adhesion after preparation*.

Plastics : good direct adhesion on PS, PC, ABS, PVC, PET. On PP, PE and HDPE use our special plastic primer.

Gelcoats and resins

Substrate Preparation :

Surface sanded with P400, dry and sound
On plastics, use a green abrasive sponge.

When a primer is required to perfect the surface, use our fast, fine filler primer, and after drying, remove as much thickness as possible by sanding.

Application :

Our PU-FLEX 2K paint is applied in 2 gloss coats.
Allow 7-10 minutes between coats

Suggested dry thickness 25µm (1 coat) or 50µm (2 coats)

Thickness tip : the thicker the paint, the more likely it is to crack or peel.

Drying time : Dry to the touch : 2h / Through-drying : 24h

Mix : 2 to 1 (100 parts paint, 50 parts hardener, 15-25% dilution).
