The VB110 base is the first step of the chrome plating system (silvering).
It creates a glossy hard surface that will allow ACT, A and B products to reveal the layer of mirror silver beneath.

The VB110 base is the latest innovation from StardustColors. It’s by far the best product to implement the hydro chroming system.
Its particular composition guarantees a full adherence with the silver.

Other qualities:
- Fast drying with baking (1h30 to 60°C) or without baking (24h at 20°C or + for best results).
- Easy application, fine and fluid product, easy to spread.

The more glossy and flawless the base is, the better the quality of the chrome and mirror effect will be.
On the contrary, all the defects (dust, holes, orange peel) that are visible once the base is dry, cannot be removed by any means, and will be highlighted after the silver application.

It’s important not to touch the base. This latter must remain untouched, free of grease residue and chemicals (wax, degreaser, etc.)

Appearance of the VB100 base: transparent topcoat.
It’s recommended to apply it over a black background (primer, paint...).

Preparation of the substrate: over paint or primers sanded at 600 - 800

Product preparation:
VB110 Base: 100 parts
Hardener: 20 parts
Thinner: 50 parts

Application conditions in workshop: 15/25°C recommended

Application mode and settings: pneumatic gun. Avoid, especially in summer, applying too thick layers in short intervals (could generate bubbles).
Application: 2-3 thin passes spaced out by 30 seconds (small parts), or 1-2 glossy coats at 5 min intervals (medium and large parts)

Drying:

Drying and Cooking: 1H at 100 ° C / 2-3H at 80 ° C / 3-5H at 60 ° C and (with air circulation) and ambient temperature> 20 ° C: 96h minimum - Up to 1 week to get perfect hardness
