Soft Masking Gum is used to hide certain areas of airbrushed figures. It is a shapeable and reusable material
In stock and shipped the same day if ordered before 11 a.m
Airbrush masking putty is not a product intended to be sprayed. It is an ultra flexible material resembling chewing gum, which allows masking on complex areas and reliefs, when painting with an airbrush.
Some figurines or miniatures have shapes that make the use of adhesive almost impossible, when you want to spray a color on part of the figurine, with the airbrush.
Masking eraser is a very moldable material, very flexible, elastic, and reusable many times, which can be placed easily and quickly on part of the miniature. It is applied by gently pressing on the surface, and the masking gum fills all the crevices instantly.
This masking mode avoids all risks of spray leaks (Overspray) when painting with the airbrush. This is a very effective and practical technique.
Putty can be removed just as easily as it was applied, without any risk of peeling off the area underneath. The area hidden by the paint then leaves a perfectly clear delineation, even on the most complex surfaces.
The masking gum leaves no traces of glue or contaminating residue on the surface.
The offer contains a 60 g “putty putty” which can be reused several times. The product is not and it is non-greasy.
To use this elastic gum, called masking putty, you must start by warming it in your hand and kneading it. Once it is very flexible, place it on the surface, and press firmly with your finger so that the masking eraser adapts to the shape of the figurine, covering the area you wish to protect:
for example: the lower part, legs and pants, of a miniature figurines
Yes, a number of times. We advise you to store it in airtight packaging, protected from light, after use. How long it lasts depends on how many times it has been used and how much spray paint it has received.
This elastic and flexible material can be used on any smooth or porous surface. Avoid greasy materials, silicones, and of course dusty or powdery materials.
There is another very effective solution for the miniaturist who wishes to decorate and create covers on these figurines: this is the MASKITO liquid mask. It is a liquid, elastic product, which allows perfect non-adhesion, and which is for single use.
