*Format
The packaging and quantity of paint you need depends on the surface to be painted.
For a touch-up: choose the aerosol, or the 250 ml pot
The paint yield is: 1L diluted = 4/5 m²
Composition
These "solvent-based two-coat paints" are professional quality, with a formula faithful to the factory color, and excellent covering power.
Solvent-based paints provide certain advantages, particularly in terms of the durability of the paints. In addition, drying is very fast, and the paints are very fine and not very sensitive to dripping.
All solvent-based products are harmful, and the user must read the safety instructions and follow them carefully before use.
Mixing
These are single-component paints: no hardener is required.
Small formats are already diluted, while large formats are supplied in pure version with the thinner separately.
Pure paints should be diluted between 50 and 70%.
Application method
The paint is applied with the 400 ml aerosol can or
a pneumatic gun with a nozzle between 0.8 mm and 1.4 mm.
>> Apply 2 to 3 coats, respecting a drying time between each coat of a few minutes (1-5), depending on the ambient temperature (15-25 ° C).
It is important to apply thin coats, and to avoid spraying thick coats, to allow a better arrangement of the mother-of-pearl and metal particles.
Varnishing must follow painting quickly within 30 minutes of applying the paint.
This is to allow the "wet on wet" adhesion between the paint and the varnish.
Two-coat and three-coat systems
All motorcycle paints, and especially TRIUMPH paints for the last thirty years, are applied according to this 2-step painting system: paint and varnish.
There are certain TRIUMPH color codes that incorporate a 3rd step, i.e. a specific undercoat. These are shades with great depth and a better pearlescent effect. Our team is responsible for checking the specific features of your shade and informing you in the case of a three-coat paint
In all cases, whether you paint directly on the old paint, or paint on a primer, it is important to have sanded with P500. It is also advisable to degrease and dust, with a sticky pad or a blower, before painting.
Priming and preparation
TRIUMPH paint must be applied to a perfectly prepared and clean surface.
A primer is not always necessary. It is always necessary when applying light colours, and the background is significantly scratched.
If the scratches are more than half a millimetre deep, a primer is no longer sufficient, because in this case a filler and then a primer must be used.
Furthermore, for each TRIUMPH colour code, the manufacturer recommends using a certain colour for the primer. In the field of bodywork paint, the type of primer used is called a filler primer.
Question about the colour code
If you do not have it in your possession, then you will have to contact the local dealer to obtain this information necessary to order your paint. The forums also offer a wealth of information when the dealer is not able to inform you.
The code of a TRIUMPH paint is generally composed of letters and numbers, 3 to 5 in total.

The glossy or matte varnish
this is the finishing coat. It has a protective role as well as an aesthetic role.
This is the most delicate step in terms of application. To achieve a beautiful glossy varnish, the secret is in the quantity of products deposited on the surface and in the waiting times between each coat.
You must apply 2 glossy coats spaced 2 minutes apart, then let dry for 24 hours
We offer a mini varnish kit for those who want to paint only one or 2 rooms
and we also offer a wide variety of high quality varnishes.
All these products can be found in the category of automotive varnishes
