To repaint a car in its entirety or simply for a touch-up, certain products and consumables are required.
It is not necessary to have a spray gun with a compressor, because we offer Volkswagen paint in aerosol spray

the consumables are :

- sandpaper 500

- degreaser

- sticky pad for dusting

- cleaning thinner for cleaning the gun

The products are

- the primer*

- Volkswagen paint already diluted (250 ml or 500 ml) or pure with its thinner (1 and 2 L kit)

- the topcoat** is always supplied with hardener and thinner

Description of the products

We offer professional grade automotive paints in a solvent-based version.
This is a one-component « 2coat » type of paint.
This technical term indicates that Volkswagen paint is produced in 2 steps : painting, then varnishing

The paint is prepared to order, it is a personalised product that cannot be returned. It is prepared the same day and we send it before 4pm for a delivery in 48 hours.

2 versions are available :

- the already diluted and ready-to-use version, for the aerosol spray and the 250 ml and 500 ml cans

- the pure version with separate thinner, for kits

Don't have your colour code ?

In this case we invite you to look inside the right front door, where you will normally find a series of numbers and letters that represent the paint reference. We cannot determine the colour code for you.

*the primer :

It is not necessary to use a primer in all cases. It is necessary when there is a fairly transparent colour, and when there are different background colours, often as a result of a filler application, for example, to repair a damage. A filler may be necessary as it also helps to reduce surface defects such as small scratches.

How to use a car paint

Your background may be the original paint, i.e. a topcoat.
If this base is in good condition, then a quick sanding with 500 is all that is needed to create good conditions for adhesion.
The application is done with a spray gun or an aerosol spray :
(spray gun 0.8 to 1.5 mm / 2-3 bars / temperature 15-25°C)
Apply several thin coats, allowing 2-5 minutes drying time between each coat.
The number of coats is less important than the final thickness or the complete coverage of the base. It is always better to apply thin coats rather than thick ones.

We advise you to carry out a test on a small plate before touching up your vehicle.
Once the paint has been applied, do not delay painting : a maximum of 30 minutes is allowed before painting. After this time, the paint must be sanded again to be able to adhere to it.

These 15 minutes give you time to clean your spray gun and mix your topcoat quietly.
It is not necessary to degrease freshly applied paint, as it does not contain contaminants, if it has been touched with dirty, greasy hands. It is advisable to remove dust before varnishing. This is done with a sticky pad.
