Somewhat like chameleon paints, they create a changing color effect from black to coloured.
In the absence of direct light (lamp, sun, lamp post), the paint once topcoated produces a deep and glossy black appearance. From a certain angle, and under light, it will reveal a deep pearl colour.
The pearl particles are very fine, and do not contain any glitter. A glittered version is available on request.
Method of application
On pure black background sanded with P500
Application with 1.3/1.4mm gun (3 bars)
4 thin layers at rapid intervals
Apply the varnish “wet on wet” before 30 minutes.
► Strengthen the protection of your paint by adding an anti-UV additive to the varnish
discover the concentrated anti-UV additive (dosage 1.5% max in the varnish and 3% max in the paints)
"Hypershift Red" paint is the new benchmark for the Black Interference range, with a more intense color change, is deeper, redder, blacker colors.
Hypershift technology is very different from the classic Black Interference color range. It is an exceptional effect which is the only one able to produce a luminous red and a pure black. This special effect paint is completely UV resistant..
black to red hypershift color, is offered in 2 versions by Stardust:
HS1 - Hypershift Black to Red + Gold
HS3 - Hypershift Black to Red
How Hypershift Interference Black paint is applied is different from regular versions.
Red to black hypershift paint, apply in 3-4 thin coats, similar to a pearlescent paint or a chameleon paint.
heavy layers are not recommended.

VOC > 420g/L
Apply using a spray gun with 0.8-1.4mm nozzle
Step 1/Application of the black background.
It can be either:
> Our "Black surfacer filler primer" (available also in spray ) for bare and imperfect surfaces (You can find the product at the bottom of page)
or
> Our black paint, 1k basecoat, (available also in spray ) ideal for covering old paints. (You can find the product at the bottom of page)
The black paint offer a deepest black effect.
Step 2/Black Interference paint application
Shake the product well before use!
The paint is used very fluid, and it is important to apply very thin passes.
It is important to paint in a regular manner, by applying an equal number of coats over each part of the car body.
Apply 3 to 4 thin coats.
When dry, it becomes mat and you can no longer notice its pearl effect. This effect will reappear during the clearcoating process and will only be visible under direct light.
Step 3/Clearcoating
Within 30 minutes, apply a glossy topcoat for bodywork (See bottom of page)
We propose a large range of clearcoat in can or in spray
*the Hydro version requires 30 to 60 minutes of drying at 20°C.
Drying can be accelerated in cold weather with a hot air source. Varnishing is possible for 24 hours without sanding.
The Hydro version can be covered with all types of conventional automotive varnishes.
Steps:
The time interval between steps (black base, Black Interference and varnish) is 10 to 30 minutes max (without sanding)
The product is also available as a complete kit for motorcycles or cars.
What are the differences between the standard "interference black" colors and the "Hypershift" color?
In addition to the difference in price and composition, there are significant differences in terms of colors, but also in application:
The Hypershift color is a chameleon color, while the standard colors are deep, dark Candy colors. The colors are produced by the reflection of light on the pearl, the reflections are natural “light” colors specific to each pearl. The name of the shade is indicative and may differ from the natural color of the pearl.
"Hypershift" colors are applied with several layers, like a pearlescent paint, Or a chameleon paint. moreover, Hypershift colors are more vivid, more intense. the color change is more radical.
