How to create a white floor with mother-of-pearl ?

How to prepare the support and seal the micro-cracks ?

Your floor may have micro-cracks, especially if it is made of concrete covered with a very thick fiber-reinforced patch. You can also find traces of tile adhesive and other construction stains on the support. It is of course important to perfect the surface condition, to eliminate these micro-cracks and these marks and to prepare the ground correctly in order to ensure the durability of the work. First, you have to fill the cracks with a mortar or a smoothing liquid, or even casting epoxy resin, floor type or other.
Then, to impregnate this floor, create a grip and plug the ports, it is essential to use the 1010 water-based epoxy resin primer. it's not about creating thickness, but about "fixing" the background. We will use this transparent resin, as a background color, by tinting it with our concentrated water-based colors for epoxy resin (10-20%). It is necessary to wait for a perfect drying of this base coat before covering. If many days have passed, if in doubt about the grip, you can peel off the white resin to recreate a good grip.

How to prepare pearly white epoxy resin ?

Once the bottom is blocked, dry, and white, you can apply the epoxy floor resin 4010. You can pour it after having clearly defined the pouring area and install edges to contain it. The room must be warm and dry, and will not be accessible for 24 hours while the resin is setting. To mix the floor resin, the epoxy resin 4000 or 4010 will be prepared all at once in a large bucket and stirred with a gyroscopic propeller.
To assess its need, the rule is simple : 1 liter for 1 m² for each millimeter of thickness. So, for 4m² and 6mm thick : you need 24 Liters.
Note that on a domestic floor you rarely exceed 1 to 2mm thick !
Before adding the hardener, we will add the white mother-of-pearl powder (about 100g to 250g for the 24L). You have the choice between a fine and silky mother-of-pearl, or a larger mother-of-pearl, Diamond type, more sparkling.

Is it possible to pour epoxy resin in two steps ?

If the thickness of the project allows it, you actually have the possibility of pouring the epoxy resin in two steps, for example by adding the pigments in the first pour. This will allow you to better cast a brighter, clearer transparent layer on top, like a layer of glass.
